Festive Room Decor

Hi guys this time of the year you want to make your whole house festive, especially your bedroom so  here are some cheap and simple things you can do to make your room cosy for christmas. ps this is a collab with the wonderful Emily who will also be showing you some room decor for the festive season... Hope you enjoy!

These little Yankee candle votives smell great and look adorable so they're perfect for this time of year!
As the countdown to christmas begins an advent calendar is essential and I love this one displayed in my room throughout December.
I found this adorable tissue box in Waitrose and as the cold and flu season is upon us why not add a simple touch to your bed side table with a festive tissue box!
And last but certainly not least, FAIRY LIGHTS! I bought these for £3.99 from B&M but really any warm white lights will make your room feel cosy and festive.

I really enjoyed decorating my room this year and I haven't finished yet but I thought I would just show you some of the small and simple ways I make my bedroom perfect for the season.

Favourite Festive Candles

It's that time of the year again when you turn on the fire cosy up under a blanket and light your favourite candle. I thought I would share some of my most loved festive scents; hope you enjoy...

This one is an old classic and probably my favourite, the scent of cinnamon fills your room and it is wonderfully comforting.
To me this one smells just like christmas trees and captures the scent of pine perfectly, I will definitely be repurchasing this one when it burns out!
The scent of apple crumbles, packed with cinnamon reminds me of christmas when I was younger and my mum would bake apple crumble on the cold dark evenings.
If you don't like sweet, sugary scents this one isn't for you but to me this smells deliciously sweet, vanillary and festive.

A day at the beach

Over the half term break my family and I went for a week in Poole, on the Tuesday morning we went to the beach to relax for a couple hours. It wasn't the warmest day but I wore a loose cardigan and I had the best time. I didn't really know how to turn my morning into a blogpost but I wanted to share the pictures with you. So lets just see how this turns out.

Me; clothes - playsuit (no longer available)

My Sister; clothes - top , shorts (no longer available)

My tips for happy skin

First up I would like to say thank you to emsirose.blogspot.co.uk for tagging me in this and also for being a great support for me and my blog, please check out her blog.

My most used skincare products.
Lets get on with the questions...

How would you best describe your skin? My skin is normal to dry generally, but I get red dry patches under my eyes and spots in my t-zone sometimes.

What are your main skincare concerns? I would say under eye dryness and dry patches on my forehead.

What is the weirdest natural ingredient you have used in your skin care? Probably moringa and orange flower to help get a natural glow in the Garnier face scrub.

How would you define happiness? This is a tough one but I would say being surrounded by people who make you happy and not being stressed or anxious.

Describe your skincare in 5 words. Quick, simple, moisturising, glowing and cheap!?

Tell us your skincare top tip. I would say just try to keep it simple and don't use harsh exfoliants too often as it will damage your skin, also give your skin a break from makeup sometimes.

What makes you laugh everyday? My friends, my guinea pigs and YouTube.

What steals your skins natural radiance? Lack of sleep, being ill and dehydration.

Give us your top tips for healthy glowing skin. Always take off your makeup at night and pamper your skin every now and then.

Where is your happy place? At home, on the sofa watching Glee with my guinea pigs.

I would love to hear your favourite skincare products in the comments and I tag YOU! Comment if you do this tag and I will take a look and share it.

Relaxing Evening Routine

This is what I do at the end of a long, stressful and tiring day when all I need is a relaxing evening to wind down and help me get a good nights' sleep, so lets get on with it.

First off I like to power off my phone so I can start to wind down and leave behind social media for the day.
Sleep therapy bath soak - £5.95
Twilight Bathbomb - £3.35
Then I like to run a relaxing bath using lavender type scents to calm me ready for sleep, these specific products are perfect and I would highly recommend them both.

calm.com

Next up whilst I'm in the bath I switch grab my iPad, which I don't have my social media on, and I open the 'calm' app and select the 20 minute meditation to really relax and get ready to sleep. Once the meditation is finished I leave the ocean sounds on for the rest of my bath, whilst I cleanse and exfoliate my skin.

April Favourites

This month has flown by and I can't believe we are already in May! I haven't done a 'monthly favourites' post before and that is mainly because I spend all my time on the sofa ill so I don't have much of a chance to try new things. However this month I set myself a challenge to try to new things and then at the end of the month tell you my favourites. So that is what I have done, so lets just get on with it...

First up I have a fragrance, 'Satsuma Body Mist' I ordered this online a month or two back as Body Shop had 40% off everything. At the time I thought it would be the perfect scent for spring so I waited until then to start using it. It is a beautiful citrus scent and it's not too overpowering; I love to spray this on in the morning it's a great awakening scent.

Up next I have an eyeshadow palette, 'Oh so special' this is by Sleek and is available in both Boots and Superdrug. I really like Sleek products; I have really enjoyed using this recently as I really like wearing pink toned eyeshadows in the spring/summer. There is a mix of matte and shimmers and they're all very highly pigmented. The best part is that it only costs £7.99!

Now we have a bubble bar from Lush, 'Brightside' this is a huge product, I think it weighs 200g compared to the normal size of 100g. That is why it's quite expensive, £4.75, however you can either cut it up into 6-8 pieces, or you can hold the whole thing under the running water for a little while, to create as many bubbles as you want.

Next I have my favourite nail polish it's ciaté's 'Empress' which is a shimmery pink colour. It's perfect for the spring and summer time it's very long-wearing and despite being expensive it is well worth it. I found it in the beauty section of TK Maxx for £3.99 reduced from £9, they often sell higher end beauty products at a lower price than normal.

Finally I have 'Rimmel Wake Me Up' foundation, this is a recent purchase of mine and so far I am loving it. I bought it because I have had the 'Match Perfection' plenty of times and I love it so I thought I would try this one out and I have not been disappointed. As I have a chronic illness I often look exhausted and this really corrects that amazingly.

Easter at Lush

As you have probably guessed by now I love lush and I love it when they bring out their limited edition collections. I think that my favourite collection has the be the Christmas one however a very close second is Easter as there are always lots of exciting colours and scents. This year I decided to get quite a few of their Easter products as they all smelt great and looked adorable. Also if you want to see demos of any of these products my other instagram @beautifulush has quite a few.

First up I have 'Hoppity Poppity' he is an adorable little rabbit that smells very clean, fresh and spring like. He is packed full of popping candy and he has a bright pink centre. He doesn't change your water any magical colours he just smells really fresh and paired with the 'Bunch of Carrots' he is perfect for a morning bath to wake you up. He is one of Lush's smaller bath bombs so he was only £2.50.

Next up I have the previously mentioned 'Bunch of Carrots' reusable bubble bar. This is a pretty expensive product at £5.95 so at first I was a bit unsure on whether to buy it or not. However I can assure you it was totally worth the price. As this is reusable you can just swirl one carrot around in the water or hold it under the tap for 30 seconds and then the water will go a pale orange colour and your bath will be covered with bubbles. I got 5-6 uses out of each carrot so I will get about 18 baths in the end which I think is incredible. Also the scent is lovely and fresh, it is slightly citrusy but mainly just quite clean and earthy.

Here we have the sweet sensation that is 'Fluffy Egg'. This little ball of fun smells identical to the infamous snow fairy shower gel which comes out every Christmas. If you're a lush newbie and don't know what that smells like, just imagine the sweetest scent possible and double it. I love this bath bomb as it sends your water a bright pink colour and you smell amazing once you're out. This is again a reasonably small bath bomb and only costs £2.95. FYI I have had 4 of these this Easter.

Second to last I have one of my favourites 'Immaculate Eggception' I picked up the yellow one as it was the only one they had in the Lush I went to. This bath bomb is pretty pricey at £6.95 but once I've explained why you will agree it's great value. So first off it's huge and I mean HUGE!! Also when you shake it it rattles, what's inside I hear you ask, well it is a adorable little bunny shaped bath bomb. To get this little you can crack the egg on the side of your bath or just cut it along the join. So therefore you get three baths out of this bath bomb, each half and the middle, that smell of citrusy sherbet aka heaven.

Last up I have 'Golden Egg' this is a bath bomb/melt. It is a bath melt on the outside which is very slow to melt away and it's seriously moisturising. Then once it's melted away the egg begins to spin around in the bath and slowly fizz away; this is the bath bomb section. It costs £3.75 which I think is quite a good price and it smells like toffee/honey which is one of my favourite scents. This was my favourite product this easter but the only annoying thing was the glitter which got EVERYWHERE!!
